Sample photographs

Nothing is perfect but here are some samples to give an idea of the images we are after.
We have selected to use the .jpg file format at 4:3 ratio - 4 wide by 3 high (the old 35mm film format). This allows some scope for basic design, style and balance.
Photographs are best take in the sun rather than shade. If the shadows are too dark use a white card to reflect some light into the dark area. Days with a little cloud about can be ideal as the light isn't as harsh.
Do not take photographs too close up. They will lack depth of field (how much is in focus).
A wider view gives more alternatives of how the image may be used.
Send the whole image without any cropping so we can select what part to use.

The image (left)  shows the flower and the leaves well defined.
Leaves and flower are in focus. This because this is just part of the original image. The photo was taken from further away and the best section was selected.
The wire mesh is not so great but you don't always have a choice.

Charmay Electro (on the left) shows all of the elements of this plant.
Some times a wider view looks good and tells the story. It could also have been just a section of this image

What we don't want:
Picture
This photo was taken in the shade, is too close, not really in focus and doesn't fit our format.
A pretty pink blotch of colour which if  trimmed to fit the 4:3 format becomes a bit like someone standing much too close when talking to you.
